HOLLYWOOD HITMAKER ANNOUNCES WINNER OF ONLINE MUSIC CONTEST Amateur Singer Beats Out Professionals And Takes Top Prize Hollywood, CA - March 15, 2006: Online music site Hollywood Hitmaker today announced the winner of the 2006 Hollywood Hitmaker music contest. The winner was determined by the largest number of online votes that were cast by fans throughout the last 12 months. All artists and musical acts competed for a cash prize of $10,000 and a chance to be featured on Hollywood Hitmaker. Second and third place finalists did not receive prizes but will be allowed to compete in the next contest, slated for the fall of 2006. Hollywood Hitmaker's Winner and finalists: First prize winner and Cleveland, Ohio native Ken Beamus couldn't believe that he actually won. "When I entered the contest last year I thought that I had no real shot at winning," recalled amateur singer Beamus. "The pastor at my church convinced me make an audition tape and leave the rest to the Lord." When asked what he planned to do with the $10,000 cash prize, the 35-year old Beamus, a school teacher who works with emotionally disturbed children, was quick to reply that all of the money is going to charity. "I wasn't expecting it, so I won't miss it," declared Beamus. "That money will help some stranger who really needs it." Hollywood resident and second place finalist Brett Meisner says he fought long and hard to get to the top, and still cannot believe that he didn't win. "People think that just because I was involved with the contest on an organizational side that I was going to try and pull some strings and win the top prize," admitted Meisner, a 40-year old rock critic and former musician. "The truth is that everyone had a fair shot. I worked message boards, took out ads and even did a phone campaign. In the end Kenny got the most votes." Meisner and his lawyers were considering having the voting process audited, but changed their minds when they heard that the prize money was going to charity. Third place finalists, the New York-based power trio Nuclear Warrior were unavailable for comment. Beamus will be flown out to Los Angeles in April to officially receive his cash award at an exclusive Hollywood Hitmaker artists showcase at the Key Club on the Sunset Strip. "I've never been to Los Angeles," said Beamus. "They call it the city of Angels. Hopefully I'll get my showbiz wings and my career will take off." Founded by technology visionaries and entertainment veterans, Hollywood Hitmaker is a virtual entertainment showcase where artists at all levels can be seen, heard, enjoyed and discovered by a worldwide audience of consumers. Hollywood Hitmaker will announce a new contest during the summer of 2006. For more information, please visit: http://www.hollywoodhitmaker.com Contact: Brice Miller Tel.
